Pupil Voice

At Hutton Henry C of E Primary School, we believe that the views and opinions of the children are very important.

Our Committees

Every child in school is invited to be in a committee. Each committee is led by an adult in school who helps the group promote their ideas. Children have the opportunity to suggest ideas and get involved in initiatives around school and in the local area. This committee structure encourages all children to have  voice and to make a difference.

Other ways that we collect pupil voice

Children are always encouraged to share their thoughts and feelings and we ensure there are a variety of methods for them to do so.  These include :

Worry Box – We encourage the children to share any worries or concerns they may have in a confidential and sympathetic way, the box is centrally located for ease of access.

Pupil Voice Questionnaire – We regularly give pupils the opportunity to complete questionnaires about their likes and dislikes of school, and try to act upon the results.

Student Council – Student Council play a key role in voicing the children’s opinions to staff and the school community. This includes regularly providing subject leaders opinions on curriculum areas.

Prayer Box – This gives children the opportunity to suggest prayers and reflections which are personal to them. They are reviewed by the RE committee and used, where appropriate, during collective worship.
