At Hutton Henry CofE Primary School, each child is supported according to individual need. The SENCO will oversee that the support given meets the needs of the children and will liaise with staff and external agencies to ensure the best quality and most effective support is achieved.
In order to facilitate safe inclusion to school life. Each child has access to a student councillor and families may be supported by a Parent Support Advisor and we work closely with First Contact Services and Educational Welfare Officer.
For some children with medical needs or a disability, school will work with both parents and carers as well as staff from external Agencies, to provide a specifically tailored support for your child. This may include:
- Detailed care plans
- Risk Assessments
- Reasonable adjustments to the school environment
- Purchasing of specialised resources
- Medical training for staff
Staff are trained in First Aid, Paediatric First Aid, Delivery of Medicines in Schools, Medicines in Schools and Team Teach.
If you would like to discuss your SEND requirements in detail please contact the school to arrange an appointment.
