SEN Transition

How we support children/young people with SEN starting at our school

By working closely with nursey/ pre school settings we are keen to gather as much information as possible to support the transition of children into our setting. We value parents knowledge of their own children and are always keen to share information and progress with them. We have opportunities throughout the year when parents can visit school  and look at their children work and share in their success. ]

How we support children/young people with SEN moving between classes in our school

Our school is very small and all staff become familiar faces very quickly. Movement into new classes is always supported  by staff working closely together to share information.  Additional visits can be arranged if need is identified to support transition.

At the end of the school year, all children have the opportunity to experience life in their new classroom  and to meet new teachers or support staff.

How we support children/young people with SEN leaving our school

We support children well to transition to new schools as they finish their primary education. While each school has different transition arrangements, the class teachers and SENCO are key partners in the transition process , sharing all relevant information required to facilitate a smooth movement for the child. Additional transition can be arranged if need is identified .

If you would like to discuss your SEND requirements in detail please contact the school to arrange an appointment.
